Marnel & Michiko's
Love Story

Once upon a time, an inquisitive shy gentleman met an eccentric but undeniably cute lady. A good humorous chem coupled with strong principles and big dreams, the two set on to be the best of friends. Through thick and thin (figuratively and literally), they both unlocked their goals and achieved their heart's desires. Individually, they are whole, but together, they are more. Now, we begin their happily ever after!

Who noticed who?

Marnel might insist that he was the one who made the first move by bombarding Michiko, the absent student at the University's Freshstart, with a ton of questions. However, Michiko first noticed Marnel when he eloquently made a point during one of the lectures. Sabrina Carpenter best belted it out for her, "who's the cute boy with the white jacket and a cute accent?"

Thirteen Years as a couple!

Since then, the two were inseparable! From their Intramuros adventure, Batangas beach swims, dining in well-hidden gem of restaurants, singing out loud in concerts, singing in silence in musicals and films, studying and procrastinating before exams in both undegrad and law school, Marnel & Michiko's relationship has been forged through sweat, tears, and blood!

"I pray and hope you can use this to sign our marriage contract. Will you marry me?"

Marnel popped the question Christmas of 2023 in the grandiose Champagne Room of The Manila Hotel. First suprising Michiko with a TWSBI Diamond 580 White Rose Gold trim and nib fountain pen, he tried to ask her to marry him. Even without verbalizing his question, he knelt down on one knee and Michiko just said the easiest YES ever (perfect cliche but it is true)!

All for paellas and callos! Marnel has developed a deep appreciation for Spanish cuisine—a love that blossomed thanks to Michiko, whose passion for Spanish food (le encanta la comida española) grew from a childhood steeped in the rich flavors of traditional Spanish cooking. ¡Salud!
